       Jan 2 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1430 GMT on
Thursday:

        ** Aon  AON.N  has completed its acquisition of
Griffiths & Armour, the UK regional broker. In a statement, Aon
said Griffiths & Armour will now trade as an Aon company
following the official closing of the acquisition on New Year’s
Day.

    ** Swisscom  SCMN.S  said that it has completed its
acquisition of competitor Vodafone  VOD.L  Italia, which it will
now begin merging with its Italian business Fastweb.

    ** Hutchmed (China) 0013.HK , controlled by tycoon Li
Ka-shing, is selling stakes in its health subsidiary for around
$608 million as the billionaire and his flagship conglomerate
look to ramp up capital and pivot towards core operations at the
drugmaker.

    ** Japan's Nippon Steel  5401.T  has proposed giving the
U.S. government veto power over any potential cuts to U.S.
Steel's  X.N  production capacity, as part of its efforts to
secure President Joe Biden's approval for acquiring the American
steelmaker, a source familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.
