Grupa Azoty polypropylene project to be operational in 2023 (updated)

       GDANSK, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Polish chemicals company
Grupa Azoty  ATTP.WA  plans to start commercial operations at
its Polimery Police polypropylene project next year, deputy CEO
Marek Wadowski said on Thursday. 
    The project was 97% complete at the end of September, he
said of the facilities that will include propylene and
polypropylene production operations with annual output of 0.4
million tonnes each.
    Wadowski did not disclose when in 2023 production is
expected to start.
    The facilities will make a range of 30 products under the
Gryfilen Polypropylene brand, aimed at the packaging and
household goods sectors as well as the automotive and
pharmaceutical industries.
    Wadowski said the diversity of the various applications for
Polimery Police's output will reduce the impact of possible
collapse in any one market. 
    Grupa Azoty holds a 64.93% stake in the project, with the
remainder belonging to Polish refiner PKN Orlen  PKN.WA ,
project contractor Hyundai Engineering Co (HEC) and the Korean
Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND).
