Muir", is the network's next president.
    
    - Edgar Bronfman Jr., the former chief executive of Warner
Music Group and the heir to the Seagram fortune, submitted a bid
of $4.3 billion on Monday to gain control of Paramount  PARA.O 
, the media conglomerate that owns CBS, MTV. 
    
    - Billionaire investor Carl Icahn and his firm Icahn
Enterprises LP  IEP.O , have settled charges that for years he
failed to disclose pledging the majority of the firm's
securities for billions in personal margin loans, together
agreeing to pay $2 million in penalties.
    
    - Canada's Alimentation Couche-Tard  ATD.TO  has sounded out
Japan's Seven & i  3382.T  about a potential takeover, the two
companies said on Monday, making the 7-Eleven owner the
largest-ever Japanese target of a foreign buyout.
