Boies Schiller grows international arbitration team with White & Case hire

By David Thomas
Feb 21 (Reuters) - U.S. law firm Boies Schiller Flexner
on Wednesday said it has hired a White & Case partner who has
represented multiple countries in international arbitrations.
Kristen Young has joined Boies Schiller's Washington, D.C.
office as a partner, the firm said. Her international
arbitration work covers the mining and energy sectors with a
special focus on the Central Asian region.
Young has represented Georgia, Jordan, the Philippines,
Romania, Ukraine and Uzbekistan in international arbitrations.
Her corporate clients include Florida-based utility TECO Energy
and Israeli minerals and chemicals company ICL Group, the firm
said.
Young's experience in Central Asia and the former Soviet
republics "complements other recent London additions and
solidifies our strategy to target the growing investment
disputes market in those jurisdictions," Boies Schiller partner
Timothy Foden said in a statement.
A White & Case spokesperson said the firm wished Young
well in her future endeavors.

White & Case on Wednesday separately said it hired Ladan
Stewart, who led the crypto and cyber litigation unit at the
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and John Cahill, a real
estate finance partner from Paul Hastings.
Boies Schiller has prioritized the Central Asian region with
some of its recent partner hires. Last March, the firm brought
on a King & Wood Mallesons lawyer whose past state clients have
included Angola, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. In
May, the firm hired a government attorney from Kazakhstan.
