** Shares of IDFC Ltd  IDFC.NS  rise as much as 4.2% to
81.65 rupees, their biggest pct gain since Oct. 12
    ** Shares hit highest level since Nov. 9
    ** National Company Law Tribunal, Chennai bench approved
scheme of amalgamation of IDFC Alternatives, IDFC Trustee and
IDFC Projects into IDFC and its shareholders on Nov. 22, the
finance co said on Friday
    ** About 5.7 million shares change hands by 0630 GMT vs
30-day avg of 8.4 million shares
    ** Stock up 24.4% so far this year, as of last close
