Imperial Brands PLC - Conclusion of Audit Tender.
 
Imperial Brands PLC ("Imperial") today announces that, in line with governance practice, and following the conclusion of a competitive tender process for its statutory audit contract the Board has approved the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP ("EY") with effect from the financial year commencing 1 October 2019.
The appointment of EY will be recommended to Imperial's shareholders at the 2020 Annual General Meeting.
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ("PwC") will remain Imperial's auditor for the current financial year. PwC did not participate in the tender due to the length of its current appointment.
Karen Witts, Chairman of Imperial's Audit Committee, said: "We would like to thank PwC for its significant contribution as Imperial's auditor since its demerger from Hanson in 1996 and we look forward to working with Ernst & Young LLP."
