Revised Publication Date for Interim Results due to COVID-19
Imperial Brands announces a revised publication date for its interim financial results for the six months to 31 March 2020. In order to provide sufficient time to prepare and review financial information in the current climate, the interim results will now be published on 19 May rather than 5 May as originally scheduled.
 
As stated in its March trading update, there has been no material impact on the Group's performance to date as a result of COVID-19. However, on 26 March, the Financial Conduct Authority issued a statement of policy recognising the unprecedented challenges faced by companies and their auditors in preparing audited financial information as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
 
With an already tight reporting timetable and with newly appointed auditors, we have therefore agreed with EY that the steps both businesses are taking in relation to COVID‐19 mean it will take longer to prepare and review Imperial Brands' interim financial results for the six months to 31 March 2020.
 
As a result, we will announce our results on 19 May rather than 5 May. Management will host a webcast presentation and Q&A session, details of which will be circulated ahead of the event.
 
We have put in place a broad range of operational changes to protect the health, safety and well-being of our employees across all our manufacturing and office locations, in line with the guidance of governments to prevent the spread of COVID‐19.
