Imperial Tobacco Group PLC (the Company) was today informed of the transfer, on 16 October 2015, by way of gift of 1,620,000 (one million six hundred and twenty thousand) of its ordinary shares of 10 pence each (Shares), which were held in treasury, to the Imperial Tobacco Group PLC 2001 Employee Benefit Trust. 
The Shares will be used to satisfy awards outstanding under the Company's employee share plans. 
Following the above transfer, the Company holds 77,289,137 Shares in treasury. 
The total number of Shares in issue (excluding Shares held in treasury) is 958,710,863.
