Australia's Imugene jumps on US patent for virus-based cancer therapy

** Shares of clinical-stage oncology firm Imugene Ltd
 IMU.AX  rise as much as 12.9% to A$0.105, biggest intraday pct
gain since June 28
    ** IMU trading 7.5% higher at A$0.1 as at 0434 GMT
    ** Co gets U.S. patent for Oncolytic Virotherapy CF33 which
uses oncolytic viruses designed to selectively kill tumour cells
and activate immune system against cancer cells
    ** Co says patent protects method of composition and use of
IMU's licensed oncolytic virotherapy till 2037
    ** More than 22.5 mln shares traded, vs the 30-day average
of 20 mln shares
    ** IMU biggest pct gainer in the ASX 200 benchmark index

    ** IMU down 35.9% this year, as of last close, vs a 3.5%
increase in the ASX 200 benchmark
