** Shares of water projects construction firm Indian Hume Pipe IHME.NS rise as much as 14.1% to 376 rupees

** IHME board on Wednesday authorised its management on proposal to sell co's freehold land at Bengaluru, Karnataka measuring about 40,875 sq. mtrs

** Co didn't disclose the expected financial gain from the land deal

** Stock is witnessing its most active trading session since September 2 with more than 1 mln shares changing hands, 10.3x of 30-day avg

** Stock last up 5.4%, cutting YTD loss to 3.7%
