** Shares of drug developer Inhibikase Therapeutics IKT.O jump 43.4% to
$1.01 before the bell
** IKT says U.S. Food and Drug Administration has lifted clinical hold on
its second study testing its lead drug candidate, IkT-148009, as a treatment for
multiple systems atrophy (MSA)
** MSA is a rare disease that results in failure of autonomic nervous system
and causes impaired movement
** FDA's decision allows IKT to proceed with its plans for a mid-stage study
in which co will test the drug's safety, tolerability in MSA patients over 6
months
** U.S. health regulator had put both studies involving IKT's lead drug on
hold in Nov. 2022
** FDA recently also lifted hold on study testing the drug as a potential
treatment for Parkinson's disease
** As of last close, IKT is up ~41% so far this year
