The S&P 500 on Friday rose above its record closing high after a report that the
United States and China were close to finalizing parts of a trade pact.  .N 
    At 12:20 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.69% at
26,991.27. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.45% at 3,023.8 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.63% at 8,237.397.
