    POLITICS
    Italy's government on Thursday failed to secure the support
needed in parliament to approve additional borrowing worth some
8 billion euros, dealing a blow to Prime Minister Giorgia
Meloni.
    
    ECONOMY
    ISTAT releases Q1 GDP flash data (0800 GMT); Q1 wage
inflation data (0900 GMT); February industry sales data (1000
GMT).
    Bank of Italy releases "2023 Financial Stability Report",
Economy Ministry representative Alessio De Vincenzo presenting
the report (1600 GMT). 
    
    DEBT 
    DBRS rating agency scheduled review of sovereign debt rating
on Italy.

    BANKS
    Italy is working on imposing a "solidarity" levy on its
banks to fund relief measures for families hit by the cost of
living crisis, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.
    
    BPER  EMII.MI 
    The Italian lender said on Thursday it had completed the
disposal of a portfolio of UTP exposures for a total claimed
amount of 470 million euros.
    
    WEBUILD  WBD.MI 
    Italy's largest construction company said on Thursday it had
already surpassed its 2023 target for new orders as the group
booked in contracts for over 11.4 billion euros in the first
three months of the year.     

    TELECOM ITALIA  TLIT.MI 
    French fund BDL, which holds a stake of around 2.5% in the
phone group, has deemed the two non-binding offers TIM received
for its landline grid as insufficient, according to two sources.

    Local authorities gave a green light to the new LNG terminal
in Piombino, paving the way for the start of the commercial
phase of the project.

    Italy's biggest bad loan firm has appointed Manuela Franchi
as its interim CEO as of April 29.

    The engineering group said on Thursday its unit NextChem had
acquired a 51% stake in MyRemono, a newly established company
that will focus on CatC, an innovative plastic catalytic
depolymerization technology.
