ECONOMY

Bank of Italy releases December data on public finances, state borrowing and debt.

COMPANIES

PIRELLI PIRC.MI

China's Sinochem, the main shareholder in the tyre maker with a 34% stake, is exploring a way out of the current governance impasse through the sale of a convertible bond backed by a 10-15% Pirelli stake, Corriere della Sera reported on Sunday.

Such a move would cut Sinochem's shareholding below the threshold of relative majority, diminishing its influence over Pirelli, in a bid to meet U.S. restrictions, but also give it the option to regain full ownership as the bond matures. UBS, Rothschild, Société Générale and BNP Paribas have been asked to pitch, the paper said.

INTERPUMP ITPG.MI

Shares in the high-pressure pump maker fell over 18% on Friday after the group said it "prudently" expects its 2026 annual turnover to come in a range between a drop of 2% and a rise of 3%.

ENI ENI.MI

The U.S. eased sanctions on Venezuela's energy sector on Friday, issuing two general licenses that allow global energy companies to operate oil and gas projects in the OPEC member and for other companies to negotiate contracts to bring in fresh investments.

Angola's national oil and gas agency, ANPG, said in a statement on Friday that it had found a new oil discovery in Block 15/06 operated by Azule Energy, a partnership between BP BP.L and Eni.

The electrochemical group said on Monday it had signed a binding memorandum of understanding with U.S.-based critical minerals refining company Tuleva, worth 10 million euros, to supply a high‑capacity electrolysis system for a battery‑grade lithium refining plant in the United States.

The electric motor component maker said on Monday it would continue to operate in line with its industrial and financial strategy after a planned investment by Chinese private equity firm FountainVest - which would have made it the controlling shareholder - collapsed due to Indian authorities not granting their approval for the deal.

 Inter Milan extended their Serie A lead to eight points as they edged 10-man Juventus 3-2 at the San Siro on Saturday.

The Rome-based club lost 2-0 to Atalanta in a home game on Saturday.
