Italy's biggest utility on Thursday improved its guidance on full-year net income after reporting nine-month earnings marginally above market expectations.
AZIMUT AZMT.MI
Shares in the Italian asset manager dropped as much as 17% on Thursday after it said an inspection by the Bank of Italy had found "significant governance and organisational shortcomings" at one of its units.
Azimut Chairman Pietro Giuliani said he was confident that Bankitalia's concerns will be overcome quickly, speaking in an interview with daily MF. If so, he added, a green light for the establishment of new fintech bank Tnb will arrive in the second quarter of 2026.
(*) Azimut Chief Executive Giorgio Medda said findings by the Bank of Italy on Azimut Capital Management were part of an ordinary oversight process and that "indications received are fully manageable", in a statement on Friday.
He added that the company had already bought back 350,000 shares on Thursday and that management would also begin purchasing shares in a sign of confidence in the group's strategy.

The country's largest construction company said on Friday it had secured 9.3 billion euros ($10.9 billion) worth of new orders so far in 2025, and confirmed its guidance for the full year.

The Italian state-controlled power grid operator on Thursday reported a 7% rise in nine-month core profit (EBITDA) to 2.03 billion euros ($2.4 billion), boosted by investments in the energy transition and grid efficiency.

The shipbuilder and Albania's Kayo will build seven vessels at the Pashaliman shipyard in Vlora as part of a broader partnership between the two companies, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Thursday after a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome.
