** Blackstone  has walked away from a proposed $4 billion tie-up with Hong Kong's New World Development <0017.HK> after the struggling property developer refused to hand over the reins, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

** Britain's Intertek  is likely to recommend a 9.4-billion-pound ($12.72-billion) takeover proposal by Swedish private equity group EQT , the product testing company said on Wednesday, after rejecting three previous bids.

** Mercedes-Benz  has agreed to sell its seven Berlin dealerships to a Canadian investor, as part of efforts to sell off businesses in its dealership network, the German carmaker said late on Tuesday.

** Brown-Forman  has rejected a $32 per share cash takeover offer from U.S. spirits maker Sazerac, according to a source familiar with the matter, weeks after talks between the Jack Daniel's maker and France's Pernod Ricard  fell apart.
