POLITICS
Italian opposition parties have denounced an attack on press freedom after state broadcaster RAI on Friday removed a veteran journalist as presenter of its flagship investigative programme, while government allies have welcomed the move.
Ukraine's former Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has accepted a role as innovation adviser at Italy's Defence Ministry, the ministry said on Friday.

ECONOMY
Deputy Prime Minister and League party leader Matteo Salvini said in an interview with Milano Finanza on Saturday that banks should help public finances through a "contribution" worth 5% of their annual profits. 

COMPANIES

Qatarenergy has notified Italian utility Edison that it has extended the force majeure suspension period on liquefied natural gas deliveries until early November, sources said on Friday.

The Italian oil and gas company said it was working with Venezuelan authorities to help revive the country's energy sector, after President Donald Trump on Friday announced an unprecedented U.S. push to take control of a fifth of the South American country's vast oil reserves.
"We are working with the Venezuelan counterparties and any other authorities involved  to support the revitalization of the country's energy sector, for the benefit of its people and international energy security ... we will provide further details once they have been finalized," Eni said in a statement.
Eni on Saturday said it had signed, together with MIWEN and the Uruguayan National Oil Company ANCAP, the official agreement for entry in the OFF-5 exploration block offshore Uruguay, following approval by the Uruguayan authorities.

Italy's top insurer fears its unit Alleanza could be sold to Unipol UNPI.MI as part of Intesa Sanpaolo's ISP.MI bid for rival bank Monte dei Paschi BMPS.MI, Corriere della Sera's weekly supplement L'Economia reported on Monday.

Nico Gonzalez scored for Juventus five minutes after coming off the bench and fellow sub Teun Koopmeiners added a second late on as their side secured a 2-0 home win over Parma on Saturday, making it two wins from two to kick off the new Serie A season.
