** Company says its drug, olezarsen, reduced triglyceride levels by up to 72% in people with severe hypertriglyceridemia in two late-stage studies

** Drug also cut acute pancreatitis events by 85%

** Hypertriglyceridemia is a condition where fat levels in the blood are too high, raising the risk of heart disease and pancreatitis

** Triglycerides are a type of fat in the blood that the body uses for energy

** RBC Capital Markets analyst Luca Issi called the results "splashier-than-expected"

** As of last close, stock up 22% YTD
