** Shares of British semiconductor wafer maker IQE IQE.L fall as much as 23.2% to 37.95 pence

** Co raises 13 million pounds ($17.56 million) at a price of 19.8 pence per share as part of broader fundraising from investors

** Placing is at about 60% discount to IQE's close of 49.4 pence on Monday

** Co on Monday had concluded its review and said Q1 trading was in line with expectations

** Including session's losses, stock up nearly nine-fold so far this year
