ROME, May 7 (Reuters) - The CEO of Italian utility IREN
IREE.MI , Paolo Emilio Signorini, has been arrested and put in
custody on corruption charges related to his previous role as
head of the Ports of Genoa Authority, Genoa prosecutors said on
Tuesday.
Iren's shares on the Milan bourse were down by more than 3%
as of 0800 GMT.
As part of the same investigation Giovanni Toti, the
president of Liguria, the north-western region that comprises
Genoa, has been placed under house arrest, the prosecutors'
statement added.
It was not possible to contact Iren for a comment.
