Ironwood's bowel disease treatment meets main goal in late-stage trial (updated)

       Feb 29 (Reuters) - Ironwood Pharmaceuticals  IRWD.O 
said on Thursday that its treatment for a condition associated
with chronic intestinal failure met the main goal in a
late-stage trial.
    The trial evaluted apraglutide in patients with short bowel
syndrome with intestinal failure (SBS-IF), a condition which
might lead to serious, life-threatening complications.
    Ironwood plans to submit a marketing application based on
the trial results.
