ECONOMY
Italy narrowly avoided recession in the third quarter, data showed on Thursday, with gross domestic product stagnating following a marginal contraction in the second quarter, and underperforming most of its European peers.

Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Thursday she did not expect any changes to the charges for banks and insurers in the government's 2026 budget, in an interview with public broadcaster RAI.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
Shares in the automaker closed down 8.9% on Thursday as the maker of Fiat, Peugeot and Jeep flagged one-off charges related to changes in regulation, strategy and products, adding to underlying investor concerns over a sector chip shortage.

The Italian bank said on Thursday the European Central Bank had confirmed the Pillar 2 capital requirement for 2026 at 200 basis points.
BANCO BPM BAMI.MI
The Italian third-largest bank said on Thursday ECB had confirmed its Pillar 2 requirement for 2026 at 2.25%.

Shares in the Italian phone group closed up 4.8% on Thursday after Reuters exclusively reported that Hong Kong conglomerate CK Hutchison 0001.HK had been studying a potential tie-up of its Italian unit WindTre and the Italian operations of French telecoms group Iliad.

The Italian food and beverage group's British unit Princes Group is set to float at a valuation of 1.16 billion pounds ($1.56 billion) on Friday in one of London's largest initial public offerings this year, pricing its shares at the lower end of the marketed range in a sign of investor caution.

The Italian bank said on Thursday the European Central Bank had set the Pillar 2 capital requirement for 2026 at 1.25%.

Shares in Italgas ended up 4.17% after Europe's biggest gas distributor presented on Thursday its updates business plan to 2031 which includes higher synergies from the acquisition of 2i Rete Gas and efficiencies coming from the use of artificial intelligence.

The Italian rocket maker set the subscription price for its 400-million-euro rights issue at 20.37 euros per share, a 29.6% discount to the theoretical ex-rights price (TERP) as of Oct. 30.
