Italy's new minister for EU affairs sought to reassure
investors and other European capitals on Tuesday about the
government's stance on monetary union, saying the euro was
"indispensable", and denying he ever suggested leaving the

Italy sent hundreds of migrants towards Spain in a small
naval convoy on Tuesday after shutting its own ports to them,

Treasury sells 1.5-2.0 billion euros 0.05 percent BTP bonds
due April 15, 2021; 1.75-2.25 billion euros 1.45 percent BTP
bonds due May 15, 2025; 1.0-1.5 billion euros following two BTP
bonds: 3.25 percent due Sept. 1, 2046 and 3.45 percent due March
1, 2048. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

CEO Jean-Pierre Mustier declined to comment on a report
about a potential tie-up with French rival Societe Generale
SOGN.PA .
(*) The bank has put on the block a portfolio of non-performing

The private broadcaster is, along with Sky Italia SKYB.L ,
Perform and Spain's Mediapro, among the bidders for the TV
broadcasting rights for Italy's top flight Serie A soccer
matches, Il Sole 24 Ore reported. Offers are due by 0900 GMT on
Wednesday and will be opened shortly after. If the sum of the
offers for the three packages is below 1.1 billion euros per
year, Italy's Serie A League will proceed to the assignment of
the rights. Otherwise the League will proceed via private
negotiations with the bidders, the report added.

Core investor Raffaele Mincione denied on Tuesday press
reports that he had bought shares in Retelit to surpass the 25
percent threshold. Mincione said neither WRM nor Fiber 4.0 had
surpassed any threshold that would oblige him to disclose his
shareholding.
