    Italy's biggest private broadcaster Mediaset is working on a
large merger or acquisition in Europe's TV sector, its chief

    A tie-up between Atlantia ATL.MI and Spanish road-toll
operator Abertis is "essentially done", the Italian motorway
group's chairman told a newspaper, dismissing worries it could

    Autostrade, a unit of Atlantia, would challenge any bid to
keep the company out of the reconstruction of the Genoa bridge
in court, La Stampa said in an unsourced report.

    Shareholder Raffaele Mincione has made a notification to
authorities, alleging that Malacalza Investimenti, the bank's
top shareholder, of soliciting proxies for the upcoming
shareholder meeting without authorisation, Il Sole 24 Ore said.

    Merrill Lynch is examining options for Eurazeo's 4.8 percent
stake in Moncler, Il Sole 24 Ore said.

    French investor Denis Dumont would like to see Luigi
Lovaglio become Creval's chairman, Il Sole 24 Ore said.

    The bank is sounding out investors on a possible sale of
real estate with an estimated combined value of around 1 billion
euros, MF said. Lonestar, Blackstone and Hines have shown some
initial interest in the dossier, the paper added.

    The plan to rescue Alitalia, which the government is
preparing, sees 51 percent of the airline in the hands of state
companies, led by the Italian railways but also including firms
such as Poste Italiane and energy group Eni, Il Sole 24 Ore
said, citing current studies being done on the issue. Rome has
also contacted Boeing about possibly investing in the Italian
carrier, the paper added. 
    October is likely to be a "decisive month" on the matter,
the paper quoted Transport Minister Danilo Toninelli as saying.
