Adds background in paragraph 3-8
Oct 29 (Reuters) - Jamf JAMF.O said on Wednesday that private equity firm Francisco Partners has agreed to take the device management software maker private in an all-cash deal valued at $2.2 billion, sending its shares up over 15% in premarket trading.
Vista Equity Partners, which acquired a majority ownership of Jamf in 2017 and owns about 34% of the company, will exit its investments upon the deal closing.
The offer price of $13.05 represents a premium of nearly 24% to Jamf's closing price on September 11, before reports of potential sale.
Reuters
reported
on Tuesday that Francisco Partners is close to a deal to buy the company, citing people familiar with the matter.
Jamf provides device management and security solutions that enable IT teams to remotely manage Apple devices including MacBooks, iPads and iPhones at scale.
Despite posting a 15% year-over-year revenue growth to $176.5 million in the second quarter and raising guidance for the year, Jamf has struggled to be profitable. The company, which went public in July 2020, has seen its shares fall about 21% this year.
Citi is serving as exclusive financial adviser to Jamf on the deal, expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
