Johnson Controls explores sale of businesses valued at up to $4.5 billion, Bloomberg News reports

April 15 (Reuters) - Johnson Controls JCI.N is exploring options for two businesses in its security division, including a potential sale valued at up to $4.5 billion, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The industrial supplier is working with financial advisers to solicit interest for its Access Control and Intrusion Detection units, the report added.

Johnson Controls is seeking to sell the units separately, though it may ultimately sell them together to one buyer, according to the report.

The discussions remain in their early stages, and no decision has been made, with the company potentially retaining one or both units, it said.

The company declind to comment on the report.

The Access Control business delivers solutions to protect work environments for employees and visitors, while the Intrusion Detection unit offers sensors and detection systems for workplace security.

The company caters to companies in the aerospace manufacturing, healthcare and commercial construction industries. Its products include heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, security, fire systems and refrigeration equipment.
