Table: Japan nuclear operations: Kyushu Elec restarts Sendai No.1, Kansai restarts Takahama No.1

TOKYO, Dec 24 (Reuters) - Kushu Electric Power 9508.T restarted the 890-megawatt (MW) No.1 reactor at its Sendai nuclear power station in southern Japan on December 21 after scheduled maintenance and refuelling, a company spokesperson said.

The unit had been shut since October 16.

Kansai Electric Power 9503.T also restarted the 826-MW No.1 reactor at its Takahama nuclear power station in western Japan on November 30 following scheduled maintenance and refuelling, a spokesperson said. The reactor had been offline since September 6.

As of Wednesday, Japan has 13 reactors in operation, with a combined capacity of 12,363 MW.

Many utilities are undergoing re-licensing process to meet stricter safety standards implemented after the 2011 Fukushima disaster. Prior to the disaster, Japan operated a total of 54 reactors.

The regional utilities are: Chubu Electric Power 9502.T, Chugoku Electric Power 9504.T, Hokkaido Electric Power 9509.T, Hokuriku Electric Power 9505.T, Kansai Electric Power 9503.T, Kyushu Electric Power 9508.T, Shikoku Electric Power 9507.T, Tohoku Electric Power 9506.T and Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) 9501.T.

In the table, the companies are referred to by their regional names.

Japan Atomic Power Company (Japco), a nuclear energy company, owns two reactors.
