STEADY START FOR EUROPEAN SHARES
Most European equity indexes are notching slight gains on Monday, with energy and metals
stocks providing a lift, as oil and metals prices continue higher.
The STOXX 600 .STOXX is up 0.1%, while the FTSE 100 .FTSE , DAX .GDAXI and CAC 40
.FCHI are all higher by around 0.3%.
Basic resources .SXPP shares, up 0.8%, led the way higher after copper CMCU3 and gold
XAU= both struck new records on Monday, as investors bet that rate cuts are just around the
corner.
In corporate news, Ryanair RYA.I shares are falling 0.9% despite a new 700-million euro
share buyback as they said recent pricing has been "softer than expected".
Meanwhile, London-listed Keywords Studios KWS.L is up over 60% after EQT said it was in
advanced discussions to buy the video game services company.
Italy's FTSE MIB underperforms as several firms go ex-dividend, while Switzerland's market
is closed for a holiday.
