opening flat on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.04%.
* BP: Oil major BP BP.L has paused discussions with
Venezuela on the development of a gas project on the maritime
border with Trinidad and Tobago following the expiration of a
U.S. license to Venezuela in April, a company spokesperson said.
* HARGREAVES LANSDOWN: A consortium comprising CVC Advisers
and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority said it was considering a
possible revised offer for Hargreaves Lansdown HRGV.L after
the British investment platform's board rejected a buyout
proposal it had made in April.
* ANGLO AMERICAN: BHP BHP.AX will stand firm on the
structure and value of its latest takeover proposal for Anglo
American AAL.L , focusing instead on allaying its target's
concerns around execution risks over the coming week, sources
said.
* NATWEST GROUP: Britain is poised to scrap a milestone sale
of shares in NatWest Group NWG.L to the general public, three
sources familiar with the matter said, hours after Prime
Minister Rishi Sunak called the UK's first July general election
since 1945.
* EX-DIVS: Keyword Studios KWS.L , Whitbread WTB.L ,
Burford Capital BURF.L and Fintel FNTL.L will trade without
entitlement to its latest dividend pay-out on Thursday.
* GOLD: Gold prices drift lower on hawkish Fed minutes
* OIL: Oil prices fall for fourth straight day as U.S. rate
hike prospects emerge
* Britain's FTSE 100 closed at a two-week low on Wednesday
after hotter-than-expected British inflation pushed back hopes
of a June interest rate cut by the Bank of England, while upbeat
corporate earnings kept declines in check.
