Kinder Morgan Tennessee unit resolves force majeure on Texas-Mexico natgas pipeline By Scott DiSavino
NEW YORK, Oct 8 (Reuters) - US energy company Kinder Morgan's KMI.N Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co said it had made repairs to the pipeline in Texas and resolved a force majeure event at the Rio Bravo and Cenagas delivery meters between Texas and Mexico on Wednesday.
Tennessee declared the force majeure on October 6 after discovering a problem during planned maintenance and inspections of the pipeline
"The repairs have now been completed and the area is in the process of returning to normal operations," Tennessee told customers in a note on Wednesday
Officials at Kinder Morgan were not immediately available for comment. Officials in Mexico said gas flows from the US to Mexico had declined but did not identify the reason
The US temporarily reduced the gas supply it normally sends to Mexico by one-fifth, reported Cuitlahuac Garcia, director general of Mexico's state-owned gas company CENAGAS
The Mexican official said the reduction was due to a "critical situation" in the US, but did not specify the causes. He said Mexico was able to handle the reduction without issues
