Gold miners climb as bullion surges past $5,100/oz mark

** Shares of gold miners rise, as bullion prices soar above the record $5,100-per-ounce level for the first time

** Spot gold XAU= up 2.2% at $5,092.18 per ounce by 0848 GMT, after earlier touching an all-time high of $5,110.50

** Top miners Newmont NEM.N and Barrick Mining ABX.TO, B.N rise 4.6% and 3.5%, respectively

** U.S.-listed shares of South African miners Gold Fields GFI.N rise 3.9%, AngloGold Ashanti AU.N gain 1.6%

** Harmony Gold HMY.N up 3%

** U.S.-listed shares of Canadian miners Agnico Eagle Mines AEM.TO, AEM.N and Kinross Gold KGC.N gain between 3% and 3.5%

** Sibanye Stillwater SSWJ.J, SBSW.N climbs 2.4%

** SPDR gold shares ETF GLD.P up 2.2%
