The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq were poised to edge higher at open on Friday after a
key inflation reading came in softer than expected, boosting recent investor
optimism that the Federal Reserve could lower borrowing costs next year.  .N 
    
    At 9:05 ET, Dow e-minis  1YMc1  were down 0.16% at 37,696. S&P 500 e-minis
 ESc1  were up 0.21% at 4,807, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis  NQc1  were up 0.24% at
16,998.
