Czech $18 billion nuclear plant deal may be delayed beyond October election, report says

PRAGUE, May 27 (Reuters) - The signing of a deal between a Czech state-controlled energy firm and South Korea's KHNP 015760.KS to build a nuclear power plant may be delayed until after parliamentary elections in October, news agency CTK quoted Prime Minister Petr Fiala as saying on Tuesday.

The 2036 completion date for the first unit is so far still valid, the report added however.

The $18 billion contract was prepared for signing on May 7, but has been held up by a Czech court injunction pending a complaint by France's EDF, which lost a tender for the deal against KHNP.
