Kuehne+Nagel says unit Apex cooperates with US probe after report on alleged chip-smuggling Aug 27 (Reuters) - Kuehne+Nagel KNIN.S said on Thursday that its unit Apex Logistics was fully cooperating with authorities in a U.S. government investigation, after Bloomberg News reported that it was being probed over alleged AI chip smuggling.
"Kuehne+Nagel confirms that Apex Logistics is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities regarding this isolated matter within a wider U.S. government investigation," the Swiss logistics group told Reuters.
"Kuehne+Nagel has not been contacted by the authorities and, as this matter does not relate to Kuehne+Nagel and remains subject to an ongoing investigation, we are unable to comment further," it said.
Apex, acquired by Kuehne+Nagel in 2021, operates as an independent business within the group's portfolio.
Kuehne+Nagel shares fell 3.7% in the first hour of trading after the Bloomberg report was published early in the morning.
