EU court rules against Vivendi in fight against EU charges over Lagardere deal BRUSSELS, June 3 (Reuters) - Europe's second-highest court on Wednesday ruled against Vivendi VIV.PA in its fight against EU charges for closing its 2023 acquisition of publisher Lagardere LAGA.PA before securing regulatory approval.
Vivendi had questioned EU antitrust regulators' powers to demand information after they asked for documents revealing the sources used by journalists that may breach their privacy rights and rules protecting sources.
"Since none of the grounds invoked by the applicant are valid, the appeal should be dismissed in its entirety," the Luxembourg-based General Court said.
The case is T-1097/23 Vivendi v Commission.
