Galapagos tops BEL20 on encouraging trial data for cancer treatment

** Shares in Galapagos  GLPG.AS  rise 4% after the Belgian
biotech company presented "encouraging" new data for its blood
cancer treatment GLPG5101 on Friday
    ** Galapagos says "no unexpected safety findings were
observed and treatment with GLPG5101 resulted in high complete
response rates in all indications in this heavily pretreated
patient population"
    ** Van Lanschot Kempen calls the update "encouraging"
    ** "Given that GLPG5101 is currently manufactured at a
single site in Europe, we look forward to the planned IND
(Investigational New Drug) in mid'24 to include sites in the US
and substantiate the claim of decentralized manufacturing, which
we continue to believe to be of value-add," the broker adds
    ** KBC notes clinical studies "continue to show solid
outcomes"
    ** The shares are on top of Belgium's blue-chip BEL20 index
