** Shares of Australia's Boss Energy BOE.AX gain 4.6% to A$2.27

** Mineral explorer says it has bought 23.5 mln shares in Laramide Resources LAM.TO, reflecting about a 9% stake

** Says shares were bought at 60 Canadian cents apiece

** Deal will increase Boss' interest in Laramide to about 18.4%

** Total consideration for deal of A$15.5 mln ($9.80 mln)

** Laramide has flagship Westmoreland uranium project in Queensland

** BOE down 7.2% YTD
