Directorate Change: Lesley Knox to join Legal & General Group Board

The Board of Legal & General Group Plc (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Lesley Knox as independent non-executive director of the Company. The appointment will take effect from 1 June 2016. 
Lesley has extensive financial services experience having spent over 17 years in senior roles in financial services, including with Kleinwort Benson, Bank of Scotland and British Linen Advisors. Lesley is currently a non-executive director and Remuneration Committee Chair of both Centrica plc and SABMiller plc, as well as a non-executive director of Thomas Cook Group plc. Lesley is also Chair of Grosvenor Group. Lesley will join the Nominations Committee, Remuneration Committee and Audit Committee.

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority in relation to Lesley's appointment as a director of the Company.
