June 16 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is
expected to open higher on Friday, with futures FFIc1 up
0.05%.
* TESCO: Tesco TSCO.L , Britain's biggest retailer, said
there were "encouraging early signs" that inflation was starting
to ease across the market as it reported a 9% rise in underlying
UK sales in its latest quarter.
* ITV: British broadcaster ITV ITV.L said it was
"actively exploring the possible acquisition of All3Media",
confirming Reuters story that it was exploring deal to buy the
production company.
* CURRYS: British electricals retailer Currys CURY.L
said it is launching a strategic review of its Greek business
Kotsovolos and that could lead to a sale of the operations.
* TRAVIS: Travis Perkins TPK.L , Britain's biggest
supplier of building materials, lowered its annual profit
forecast.
* GSK: British drugmaker GSK Plc GSK.L said U.S. Food
and Drug Administration extended review period for its
experimental drug momelotinib.
* MANU: English football club Manchester United MANU.N is
negotiating granting exclusivity to the consortium led by
Qatar's Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani in talks to sell itself
for more than $6 billion, people familiar with the matter said.
* VODAFONE: Vodafone VOD.L said it had reached an
agreement with unions over managing 1,003 job cuts in Italy
needed to cut costs.
* SHELL: Top U.S. Gulf of Mexico oil producer Shell SHEL.L
said its Olympus production platform in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico
is offline for planned maintenance.
* OIL: Oil prices were set to snap a two-week losing streak
despite trading marginally lower early on Friday, amid optimism
about higher energy demand from top crude importer China and a
weaker dollar.
