LONDON, Jan 31 (Reuters) - British mobile operator
Virgin Media O2 (VM O2) and Tesco TSCO.L , the country's
biggest supermarket chain, said on Wednesday they had signed a
10-year renewal of their Tesco Mobile 50-50 joint venture.
Tesco Mobile, established in 2003, is Britain's biggest
mobile virtual network operator, with more than 5.5 million
customers. It uses VM O2's network.
"This renewal will ensure that our customers can continue to
benefit from excellent connectivity across the UK, while
enjoying all the benefits of supermarket mobile, including
exclusive deals with Clubcard Prices," Tesco UK Chief Executive
Jason Tarry said in a statement.
VM O2 is jointly owned by Telefonica TEF.MC and Liberty
Global LBTYA.O .
