** U.S.-listed shares of Lithium Americas LAC.TO, LAC.N up 38.4% at $8.33 in the premarket trading, extending Wednesday's gains

** LAC jumped 95% in the previous session following a Reuters report late Tuesday that the Trump administration is seeking up to a 10% stake in the miner

** Co said on Wednesday it was in discussions with the U.S. energy department and General Motors GM.N over the Thacker Pass loan

** As of last close, LAC shares up 102.4% YTD
