    POLITICS
    Italy's defence minister sought on Wednesday to defuse a
political row sparked by a report that Italy planned to ask Elon
Musk's Starlink to supply new secure communications services for
use by the military. Guido Crosetto told parliament that Italy
had not signed or agreed any contracts with Musk's SpaceX
company, the owner of Starlink, and the defence ministry had not
approved any deal.
    Italian journalist Cecilia Sala was freed by Iran on
Wednesday and returned home, three weeks after she was detained
in Tehran during a reporting trip.
    
    COMPANIES
    LOTTOMATICA  LTMC.MI 
    Gamma Intermediate said on Wednesday it was selling 24
million Lottomatica shares, or around 9.5%, through an
accelerated bookbuilding process.
