Italy's Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti met leaders of his co-ruling League party on Wednesday to discuss ways to garner money from banks to help fund expansionary measures in the government's 2026 budget, a League statement said.

DEBT
Foreign investors bought 77.5% of a new Italian seven-year BTP bond sold via syndication and 75.5% of a similar 30-year note, the Treasury said on Wednesday, in a sign of strong appetite for Italian paper from overseas investors. On Tuesday, Rome issued a total of 18 billion euros through the two BTP issuances.

The Italian state-backed bank
has secured 38.5% of Mediobanca's share capital, bourse data showed on Wednesday, exceeding the 35% minimum ownership threshold targeted under its hostile bid.
Mediobanca's board meets to assess the MPS' offer.

Azule Energy, a joint venture between the Italian oil and gas explorer and BP BP.L, expects to invest another $5 billion in Angola over the next four to five years, Chief Operating Officer Guido Brusco told Reuters on Wednesday.

German market regulator BaFin releases results of the Italian broadcaster's takeover offer for Germany's Prosiebensat.1.
Sources close to the matter told Reuters on Wednesday that MFE had secured a stake of above 70% in Prosieben.

The Italian betting company will join the blue-chip stock index FTSE MIB on September 22, replacing tyre maker Pirelli, FTSE Russell said on Wednesday.

Banca CF+, an Italian bank controlled by U.S. hedge fund Elliott Management, said on Thursday it had received Italy's 'golden power' clearance for its takeover bid for Banca Sistema.
