** Shares of Australia's Lucapa Diamond  LOM.AX  rise as
much as 8.6% to A$0.038, their highest level since Sept. 13
    ** LOM posts biggest intraday pct gain since Nov. 8
    ** The diamond miner and explorer says it sold four rare and
high value diamonds $17 mln at tender, recovered from Lulo Mine
in Luanda, Angola 
    ** Nearly 2.8 mln shares change hands as of 02:37 GMT, vs
30-day average volume of 788,267 shares
    ** Stock currently up nearly 3%, trimming YTD losses to
21.7%
