Sweden-listed Lucara shares soar as it unearths world's second biggest diamond

** Stockholm-listed shares in Lucara Diamond Corp  LUC.TO 
 LUC.ST  soar 81% to SEK 4.65 after the Canada-based diamond
mining company announced the discovery of a 2,492 carat diamond
in its Karowe mine in Botswana
    ** Lucara did not reveal the stone's gem quality but its
size would make it the second largest rough diamond discovered
in the world to date
    ** "This discovery reinforces Karowe's position as a truly
world-class diamond mine and highlights the continued success of
our operational and underground development strategy," CEO
William Lamb says
    ** The Stockholm-listed shares pare gains after rising as
much as 91.4% to their highest intra-day price since February
2023
    ** More than 11 million shares have been traded so far in
the session, already at its second highest daily volume on
record, closing in on the 11.3 million high from November 2015
    ** Lucara's main listing in Canada was down around 14% as of
Wednesday's close
