LJUBLJANA, July 1 (Reuters) - The head of Slovenian
Sovereign Holding (SDH), which manages state assets and
coordinates the privatisation process, resigned on Friday over
disputes regarding the management of the country's only port,
state-owned Luka Koper LKPG.LJ .
"Due to recent events and today's blockage of the operations
of port Luka Koper I decided that I will agree on my departure
from the management of SDH with the supervisory board of SDH,"
Marko Jazbec said in a statement.
The resignation came minutes before a Luka Koper shareholder
meeting was due to start. At the meeting the SDH was planning to
change three members of Luka's supervisory board, claiming
business performance was unsatisfactory.
Luka's employees started a strike earlier on Friday to
protest against the planned changes following several protests
in the past few days.
