STOXX GETS TMT LIFT, LUXURY LAGS
Falling crude prices and a pause in the global bond selloff help European shares eke out modest gains on Thursday, with the STOXX 600 .STOXX rebounding from more than one-month lows.
Telecoms .SX7P, media .SXMP and tech .SX8P rise after a mix of news including Elliott building a stake in Deutsche Telekom DTEGn.DE and Broadcom AVGO.O seeing strong AI chip sales over the next two years, lifting the regional index 0.3%.
Luxury .STXLUXP is a clear weak spot as investors remain wary of a fragile demand outlook, with sector bellwether LVMH LVMH.PA hitting its lowest level since 2020. Energy .SXEP retreats, with Brent crude briefly dipping below $95 a barrel.
London's FTSE 100 .FTSE and the euro zone's blue-chip Euro STOXX 50 .STOXX50E advance around 0.1%.
