The S&P 500 index hit a record high on Wednesday, led by defensive sectors, as
bets of an interest rate cut rose on fears of a slowing global economy due to
simmering trade tensions. .N 
    At 10:16 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.21% at
26,843.84. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.29% at 2,981.52 and the Nasdaq Composite
