DATA
Poland's statistics office to release CPI data at 0900.
CENTRAL BANK
Poland's central bank governor Adam Glapinski reiterated in
an interview with Sieci weekly that it had not been
participating in work for banks to come to an agreement to offer
out of court settlements to people with Swiss franc mortgages,
and that the central bank would only support a solution that
deals with the entire problem.
He also reiterated that the central bank was prepared to
intervene in currency markets if needed.
SWISS-FRANC MORTGAGES
The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) does not
intend to introduce regulations aimed at persuading banks to
launch universal settlement programs with people with
Swiss-franc mortgages, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
EU RECOVERY FUND
Polish opposition parties are forming a front to set the
conditions under which they will support the EU Recovery Fund,
which is opposed by one of the parties in the ruling coalition,
Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
INFLATION
Although inflation is accelerating, basic products in the
largest chains in Poland are on average slightly cheaper than in
the last month before the pandemic as a result of price
competition, Puls Biznesu daily reported.
IPO
The president of the IT company Billennium Bartosz Lopinski
told Puls Biznesu that the company is considering a potential
stock exchange debut, but is not convinced that it is a good
moment. The decision to go public could come in about two years,
he said.
MEDINICE
This year, the pharmaceutical company Medinice ICEP.WA
will begin clinical trials of two products for minimally
invasive treatments, as well as negotiations with global
concerns to sell a license or IP, Puls Biznesu reported.
MINES
Trade unions and the government still cannot agree on the
details of subsidies for mines and protection for miners,
Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported. Negotiations are expected
to resume at the end of the week.
LPP
The president of LPP LPPP.WA , Marek Piechocki, told Gazeta
Wyborcza daily that the company will probably end 2020 with a
loss, at a level similar to the first quarter 2020, when the
loss amounted to over 250 million zlotys.
MABION
Mabion MABP.WA board member Slawomir Jaros told Gazeta
Wyborcza daily that the company would be involved in obtaining
the active substance of the COVID-19 vaccine in the form of a
recombinant virus protein. Similar processes will be carried out
in the Czech Republic and Spain, where Novavax has its plants.
Mabion will therefore be one of the three producers in Europe,
the newspaper reported.
