India's Mahindra & Mahindra posts first quarter profit rise
India's Mahindra & Mahindra posts first quarter profit rise July 30 (Reuters) - Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra MAHM.NS reported a rise in first-quarter profit on Thursday, as strong demand for its high-margin sport-utility vehicles helped cushion the impact from the Middle East war.
The maker of the Scorpio and Thar SUVs posted a standalone profit after tax of 36.85 billion rupees ($385.10 million) for the quarter ended June 30, compared with 34.50 billion rupees a year earlier.
